A Tax Cut is a Pay Bump: Eliminate the West Virginia State Fuel Tax

West Virginia’s fuel tax is currently $0.357 per gallon of gasoline and diesel. The average driver in District 95 is spending almost $200 per year on the state fuel tax.

It may not sound like a lot of money, but it’s your money. The workers and farmers of District 95 need relief from excessive taxes in this difficult economy. Almost $200 makes a difference when buying groceries, keeping up with vehicle repairs and other necessary living costs.

WVNews reported that some representatives of both major parties are beginning to call for suspending or eliminating the state fuel tax. I pledge to work with delegates from any party to get this done.
